Dry, flaky legs are never going to be desirable. Whether it is the dead of winter or your skin is prone to dryness in general, learning how to exfoliate skin on legs at home will keep them silky smooth. The process of exfoliation removes the outermost layers of dead skin and leads to soft and even-toned legs. Gather the necessary supplies, put in some elbow grease and get perfectly glowing gams.

Rub a loofah sponge all over your legs when they are dry. This preps them for exfoliating. Start at the feet and go up the legs with the loofah.

Mix together 1/4 cup sea salt, 1 1/2 cups coffee grounds and 1 tablespoon baby oil in a medium-size bowl. Stir the ingredients with a large spoon. The coffee grounds exfoliate the legs effectively and can also tighten the skin as an added benefit. Caffeine is often used in firming lotions.

Apply the scrub to wet skin with your hands while you're in the shower and rub it up and down your legs. Use a washcloth to scrub in gentle, small circles.

Rinse off the scrub with warm water. Rinse your legs again with cold water.

Apply moisturizing body cream to your legs after exfoliating them.
