There's nothing more embarrassing than having a severely dry and itchy scalp. Scratching your head in public can cause unwanted attention, not to mention it often creates a shower of flaky dandruff and hair loss. With some simple steps, you can create some home remedies to cure your severely dry and itchy scalp and return to feeling comfortable again.

Items you will need

  • Coconut oil, olive oil, almond oil
  • Tea tree oil
  • Lemon
Step 1

Heat a small amount of coconut oil, olive oil or almond oil and massage it gently into your scalp for about 20 minutes. The oil will ease the discomfort of the dry, itch scalp.

Step 2

Wash your hair with a low-pH shampoo.

Step 3

Apply lemon directly to your scalp if you are having an issue with dandruff. Wash after leaving the lemon on the scalp for at least 30 minutes.

Step 4

Apply tea tree oil if the problem persists. Tea tree oil is excellent for combating a fungal infection, which could be causing the dry, itchy scalp.

Step 5

Repeat regularly and wash with a low-pH shampoo.
