Acne occurs when pores overproduce cells and oil is no longer able to drain from the surface. Blackheads form when the oil oxidizes and turns the skin a brownish or blackish color. Blackheads can be difficult to get rid of because this type of acne is slow to heal. Although there are plenty of over-the-counter treatments to help remove acne scars, you may opt to use home remedies to eliminate blackhead scars. Hydrogen peroxide is one such home remedy that can be used.

Wash your face with soap and water to remove any excess oils. Dry your face completely.

Mix equal parts of hydrogen peroxide and water in a container.

Dip a cotton swab or cotton ball into the hydrogen peroxide mixture. Dab your blackhead scars with the solution.

Do not get the hydrogen peroxide solution on your eyebrows or on your hairline because it may bleach your hair.

Leave the hydrogen peroxide on your scars overnight. Wash you face in the morning.

Continue to treat your blackhead scars with hydrogen peroxide until the scars are faded. Hydrogen peroxide is a harsh substance and can dry out your skin. You may only want to use this treatment once a week or less.
