A gas grill can convert your patio into a kitchen, letting you cook practically anything outdoors that you would indoors on your kitchen range. Controlling the heat on your gas grill is the key to cooking anything you choose, including turning the grill into an oven for baking a cake. Become adventurous and experiment with your gas grill, because it is useful for so much more than cooking hamburgers, hot dogs and steaks.
Turn the gas on to your grill, and turn the burners to high. Shut the lid on the grill to allow it to preheat to 350 degrees Fahrenheit.
Turn the outside gas burners to medium heat when the temperature reaches 350 degrees, and turn off the center burner, leaving the lid closed on your grill. This sets the grill to bake on indirect heat.
Pour your cake batter into a greased and floured Bundt pan.
Open the grill, and place a thin cookie sheet or a piece of aluminum foil in the center of the grill.
Place your cake on the sheet, and close the lid on your grill. Set a timer to bake your cake according to the time required by your recipe.
