Lemon drop candies are a long-time favorite. With a little time and fresh lemons, you can make your own lemon drop candy rather than get it from the store. Making homemade candy is an enjoyable activity that yields results you can share.
Squeeze enough lemons to fill up one cup with juice.
Pour your lemon juice and a cup of sugar into a mixing bowl.
Stir until the sugar has completed dissolved.
Pour your mixture into a saucepan.
Place the saucepan on the stove. Cook on high heat until your mixture reaches a thick, syrupy consistency. Remove it from the heat.
Butter a cookie sheet or use a cooking spray to ensure the lemon drop candies do not stick the sheet.
Drop nickel-sized dollops of your mixture onto the cookie sheet with a spoon.
Allow a few hours for the candies to cool and become hard. They are then ready to eat.
