If you shampoo and condition your hair every day, your hair may be left with buildup or residue. This can cause your hair to feel weighed-down and heavy. Styling your hair becomes difficult because it doesn't feel as soft and healthy as it did before. You don't have to live with dull, stringy hair forever -- clarifying shampoos, as well as more natural products, can remove the residue from your hair.

Shampoo your hair with a clarifying shampoo. Do not use a clarifying shampoo more than once a week because it can strip your hair of its natural oils.

Pour a 1/2 cup of apple cider vinegar in a small bowl. Distribute the apply cider vinegar all over your hair after you have washed it with your regular shampoo. Rinse the vinegar out of your hair. Style your hair as usual.

Mix 1 tablespoon of baking soda with 1/4 cup of water in a small bowl. This mixture can be used in place of apple cider vinegar to eliminate residue. Apply the mixture to wet hair. Leave it in your hair for a couple of minutes. Rinse the baking soda out and wash your hair as you would normally.
