Baseball caps are a staple of American fashion. They come in all shapes, colors and sizes, featuring a diverse array of logos and designs. A faded baseball cap has a certain nostalgic charm and can bring a classic, down-to-earth touch to the wearer's ensemble. Although many stores sell baseball caps with the faded look, it is easy to make an authentic-looking faded cap at home in just a few simple steps.
Turn on your washer. Set it to "heavy duty," and its temperature to "hot." According to New Mexico State University, this will help fade the dyes in your baseball cap.
Add 2 tablespoons of bleach to the hot water. Use your measuring scoops to get the exact amount.
Put the baseball cap into the washer, close the lid and wait until the washer completes its cycle.
Dry the cap. If you're certain that it's a pre-shrunk cap, you can tumble it in the dryer. Otherwise, dry it by hanging it on a clothesline.
