If you own a canvas jacket, chances are you might be tired of walking around with a wet jacket after getting soaked in the rain. To prevent this from happening, waterproof your jacket. After properly applying a waterproofing product, water will bead up and roll off the material instead of being absorbed by the canvas.
Load the clean jacket into the washing machine.
Pour some waterproofing solution into the washing machine's liquid dispenser. A good waterproofing solution for canvas is Nikwax Cotton Proof.
Start the machine on a cotton wash cycle. Let the machine finish, and remove the jacket.
Hang the jacket to air dry or place it in a dryer (if it is dryer-safe). Tumble dry the jacket on a low setting, and remove when the cycle is complete.
