Fennel is a green vegetable with a unique, somewhat sweet taste. Place fresh fennel in sealed plastic bags. Fennel may pick up flavors of other foods if not kept in a closed container.
Put the bags in your refrigerator, preferably in the vegetable crisper as suggested by WH Foods.
Use fresh fennel within a few days (up to a week) of purchase. Fennel will lose flavor as it ages, according to WH Foods.
Place the seeds in an airtight glass jar. Place a label on the container with the date of the day you placed them there.
