Aluminum jewelry can gather dirt and residue from body oils over extended periods of time. Many commercial jewelry cleaners contain harsh chemicals which can be expensive as well as hazardous to your health. A simple method is available to effectively clean aluminum jewelry with some inexpensive and common household ingredients. Implement this technique to safely and sufficiently clean your aluminum jewelry.
Heat 1 cup of water in a small sauce pan.
Cut a piece of aluminum foil equal to the diameter of the bottom of a small bowl.
Place the aluminum foil into the bottom of the small bowl.
Pour the heated water into the bowl.
Add 1 tbsp. salt, 1 tbsp. baking soda and 1 tbsp. liquid dish detergent to the bowl of water.
Place aluminum jewelry into the bowl and allow to set for ten to 15 minutes.
Remove the jewelry from the bowl and rinse in cool water. Thoroughly dry with a microfiber cloth.
Dispose of the excess cleaning solution and aluminum foil and wash the bowl.
