When made properly, cheesecake is a rich, scrumptious dessert. Silky and smooth, it is a tasty and delicious way to end a meal. Though most cheesecake recipes call for cream cheese, quite a few contain cottage cheese or ricotta cheese. If you have a killer cheesecake recipe that people can’t get enough of or can’t wait to try, show it off by sending out a few cheesecakes overnight as gifts via the U.S. Postal Service or courier.
Wrap the frozen cheesecake in plastic wrap, then place it in a proportionately sized box. Pack the box with the frozen cheesecake in it in a sturdy foam or heavy ridged cardboard box.
Put some dry ice or gel packs around the outside of the box with the cheesecake in it. Do not touch the dry ice with your bare hands and don’t let it have direct contact with the frozen cheesecake, hence the separate packing. To warn the recipient, write “Contains Dry Ice” on the exterior of the box.
Wrap the sturdy box with two sheets of brown paper.
Write the recipient's address and your address on the wrapped box with a permanent marker. Make sure everything is written legibly. Write “Keep Refrigerated” on the exterior of the box.
Go to the United States Postal Service website to inquire about overnight postage charges then go to your nearest post office to have your package shipped. Make sure you get the tracking number so that you and your recipient can track shipping process of the package.
Inform the recipient when he or she can expect the package.
