How to Lace Vans Half Cabs

by Meg Butler

Vans Half Cabs are perhaps one of the most iconic and recognizable skateboarding shoe. Half Cabs can be laced like any other tennis shoe. But, unlike most tennis shoes, the Half Cab does have a classic bar lacing style to go along with its classic look. Your Half Cabs come with their own laces. Use those, or purchase a more unique pair that fits your personal style.

Step 1

Thread the laces through the first two parallel eyelets (closest to the nose of the shoe). Pull each end of the lace through each eyelet from the outside of the lip to the inside. Then pull the lace so that both ends of the lace are even. If you threaded it right, the lace will lie on top of the lips, not underneath them.

Step 2

Pull the right end of the lace through the eyelet directly above. Thread it from the inside of the lip to the outside.

Step 3

Pull the right lace over the tongue and then through the parallel eyelet. Thread from the outside of the lip down to the inside.

Step 4

Thread the right lace through the eyelet that is two holes above it on the same side (skip a hole). Pull the lace through the underside of the lip onto the topside.

Step 5

Pull the lace over to the right side and thread it through the parallel eyelet. Thread from the outside of the lip down through the inside of the lip.

Step 6

Thread the right lace through the eyelet that is two holes above it on the same side (skip a hole). Pull the lace through the underside of the lip onto the topside.

Step 7

Pull the right lace over the tongue and thread it through the parallel eyelet. Thread from the outside of the lip down through the inside of the lip.

Step 8

Thread the right lace through the hole directly above it through the inside out.

Step 9

Thread the left lace through the eyelet that is two holes above it on the same side (skip a hole). Pull the lace through the underside of the lip onto the topside.

Step 10

Pull the left lace over the lip and thread it through the parallel eyelet. Thread from the outside of the lip down through the inside of the lip.

Step 11

Thread the left lace through the eyelet that is two holes above it on the same side (skip a hole). Pull the lace through the underside of the lip onto the topside.

Step 12

Pull the left lace over the lip and thread it through the parallel eyelet. Thread from the outside of the lip down through the inside of the lip.

Step 13

Thread the left lace through the hole directly above it through the inside out.
