Celtic sea salt is an unprocessed salt that is used as an alternative to processed table salts for its tasty flavor and nutritional qualities. Finely ground Celtic sea salt is more suitable for use in cooking and at the table. If you have coarse sea salt, it is easy to finely grind it for use in a salt shaker with just a few simple steps and the right tools.

Place Celtic sea salt in mortar (bowl), filling it less than halfway.

Hold the mortar firmly in place. Grind the sea salt by applying moderate friction with the pestle in a circular motion.

Turn the mortar during the process of grinding to make sure you have ground all of the salt with even consistency.

Grind for at least one minute or until the sea salt is crushed to your desired consistency.
