Vitamin E is an antioxidant that is found in nuts, seeds and vegetable oils. One of its many functions is to promote healthy skin. The vitamin can reduce inflammation of the skin, protect your skin from sun damage and fight the signs of aging. Because of the many benefits of this fat-soluble vitamin, consumers are turning to vitamin E oil to improve skin texture and tone. The oil isn’t a cure-all for skin tone issues, but it can be used in some situations.

Smoothing Out Appearances

Vitamin E oil has a thick consistency, which makes it useful in treating dry skin patches overnight. Smoothing out the patches improves the overall tone. Antioxidants in the oil prevent free radicals from getting in the way of scar healing. When used in the long term, vitamin E oil may prevent environmental damage to the skin.

Precautions Before Use

While vitamin E oil may possess skin-toning benefits, the product isn’t right for everyone. Oily and combination skin types may experience breakouts because of the oil's heavy consistency. It can cause an allergic reaction in some users, so discontinue use if you experience a rash or hives.
