A chocolate martini is a sweet, chocolate-flavored cocktail made with vodka and creme de cacao, a clear or dark brown liqueur made from the cacao seed.
Recipe
A chocolate martini is made with 2 oz. of vodka and 1/2 oz. of creme de cacao liqueur, according to Drink Mixer. It is prepared by mixing the vodka and creme de cacao in a shaker filled with ice, and then pouring the mixture into a martini glass.
Calories
The calories in a chocolate martini will vary depending on the brands and strengths of the vodka and creme de cacao used. Vodka, on average, contains approximately 140 calories per 2 oz, and creme de cacoa averages 50 calories per 1/2 oz., according to Drinks Mixer, which makes the approximate total calorie count of a chocolate martini 190.
Alcohol Content
On average, vodka is 40 percent alcohol, or 80 proof. One serving of 80 proof vodka equals 1 1/2 oz., according to the American Dietetic Association. Creme de cacao is typically 25 percent alcohol, or 50 proof. If you drink alcohol, you should do so in moderation. Moderate drinking is considered one drink per day for women, and two drinks per day for men.
