When you wake up with a pimple or suffer from constant acne, it can be a source of embarrassment. A salicylic acid and benzoyl peroxide treatment, such as the Clean & Clear Advantage Acne Control Kit, can help to dry the excess oils to treat existing acne and help to prevent new acne from forming to help remedy a vexing problem. You can help your skin acclimate to the treatment by applying the treatment infrequently at first and then increasing applications as your skin becomes more used to the products.
Wet your skin and massage the Acne Control Cleanser over your entire face, avoiding your eyes. Use the Acne Control Cleanser only once a day until your skin acclimates, after which you can move to twice-per-day applications. Rinse with water and gently pat your skin dry with a clean towel.
Apply a thin layer of Acne Control Moisturizer to your entire face. The Acne Control Moisturizer will help to prevent new acne from forming, while treating the acne you already have with benzoyl peroxide. As with the cleanser, begin with a once-daily application before you try applying twice per day. Add a sunscreen over the top of the product, as the product does not offer sun protection and sun exposure can sometimes exacerbate acne, notes Acne.org.
Apply a thin layer of the Fast Clearing Spot Treatment to the affected areas only. Add a small amount of the Fast Clearing Spot Treatment to your index finger and smooth it over the pimple. Avoid your eyes, lips, areas of broken skin and areas without pimples, as the treatment can be drying, according to the package directions.
Begin with a once-daily application. As your skin shows signs of improvement, you can increase your daily application to two or three times. MedlinePlus notes that you may observe dry or peeling skin, which is normal. Reduce your applications if you notice irritation.
Use the Fast Clearing Spot Treatment only when you need to. It is not meant as a preventive measure but rather to treat existing acne. To prevent acne, focus on using the Acne Control Cleanser and the Acne Control Moisturizer on a regular basis.
