Stop taking the Provera. Your doctor will need to determine if there is another drug you can take that doesn't have acne listed as a side affect. If your acne is caused by the Provera, it will clear up once the Provera is stopped.

Keep away from soap which will cause more pimples. Switch to a mild facial cleaner such as Neutrogena. Wash your face twice per day with this facial cleanser.

Use acne cream that contains benzoyl peroxide. Apply it based on what the directions on the package say. It comes in different strengths so the instructions will vary some.

Apply a facial moisturizer to your face after you use the benzoyl peroxide. This will keep your face from drying out. It is best to use an all natural moisturizer. The chemicals from regular moisturizers can irritate your pours.

Visit your doctor and get a prescription for an antibiotic. This will need to be taken for at least three months. If your acne is severe the antibiotic will kill the bacteria that causes the acne.
