How to Make an Oil Treatment for Dry Nails

by Contributor

This oil nail treatment is perfect for dry nails. This simple treatment for nails helps to moisturize the nails and cuticles. This treatment for dry nails also helps to strengthen the nails and protect them from future damage. I suggest using this oil treatment for dry nails 2-3 times per week, or use with your regular nair care regimen.

Items you will need

  • 1/4 cup olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • Cotton balls or swabs
Step 1

Warm the olive oil for a few minutes.

Step 2

Remove pan from heat and add the lemon juice. Stir.

Step 3

Pour the mixture into a glass jar, then allow it to cool until it's slightly warmer than room temperature but not hot.

Step 4

Massage the oil into each fingernail and cuticle area gently using a cotton ball or swab, then allow it to dry naturally. If you prefer, you can put a thick layer of the oil over the nails and put on a pair of mittens to let it soak in overnight. This oil mixture can also be used on toenails.
