Argireline Benefits

The typical consumer determines the benefits of a product through a highly subjective lens. This lens is similar to a kaleidoscope that reveals the blurring of a buyer’s cultural ideology, economic state and personal preference. Determining if and when to use age-defying cosmetic products is a decision that can put your lens to the test. Nevertheless, the cosmetic company Lipotec has come up with an anti-wrinkle product called Argireline that has quickly become a thorn in the side of popular injected wrinkle-reducers.

Alternative to Botulinum Toxin

Argireline purportedly inhibits the release of the neurotransmitters attached to facial expression. Because facial tension contributes to lines and wrinkles, the forced relaxation of Argireline can theoretically decrease their appearance. This is a contrasting element to competitor products that inject small amounts of botulism poison under the skin to achieve similar results. Research published in the “International Journal of Cosmetic Science” in October 2002 reported Argireline to reduce wrinkle depth in women by 30 percent after 30 days of use without the risks posed by injections.

Wrinkle Reduction

Argireline topical wrinkle creams are promoted as combatants to facial wrinkles caused by exposure to environmental toxins and repeated facial movements. The main ingredients in Argireline are proteins that derive from three amino acids. The Lipotec website states that Argireline mimics the biological SNARE proteins responsible for the release of neurotransmitters that regulate facial expression. The anti-wrinkle result is theoretically derived from destabilized biological proteins that inhibit neurotransmitter release without causing any cellular damage.

Safety

A hive of commercial cosmetic products utilize the anti-wrinkle effects of Argireline in emulsions, gels, creams and serums. Cosmetologist and plastic surgeon reviews published at the US Food and Drug Administration website indicate that despite FDA warnings of potentially life-threatening side effects, botulinum toxin injections continue to be the wrinkle-defender of choice for most consumers. The largest benefit of Argireline seems to be that it offers a closer-to-natural alternative to botulism poison while delivering similar effects and competitive prices.
