How to Remove Brown Spots With Eggplant

Eggplant slices applied topically can lighten freckles in as little as one week.

Brown spots, also known as freckles, are caused by uneven distribution of melanin in the skin. Freckles are often found on the face and shoulders, but can be anywhere on the body. More often seen on fair-skinned people with light colored eyes, freckles are made darker and more prevalent with exposure to the sun, so prevention begins with using a quality sunscreen every day. Lighten freckles naturally using ingredients from your kitchen.

Slice one eggplant into 1/4 inch thick rounds. Choose a fresh eggplant that is moist and not dried out.

Rub the eggplant slices in a circular motion on your freckles for three to five minutes. Eggplant is rich in phytonutrients, vitamins and minerals, all of which will benefit your skin.

Leave the eggplant juice on your skin for at least 15 minutes before washing it off with warm water. You should start to see results in as little as one week. Regular use will continue to lighten your freckles.

Eating eggplants can also help lighten brown spots. Both eating eggplant and applying it topically will give you the best results.


  • Eggplant will lighten your freckles, but it won't make them disappear entirely.
