Feminine men tend to eschew traditional views of heterosexual relationships and bring unique and advantageous qualities to dating. Femininity in men is not embraced in many societies, but it provides a different script in relationships. Feminine men are more likely to have quality relationships and use positive means of resolving problems that many couples experience. Though they are atypical, feminine men offer rich opportunities for satisfaction in relationships.
Constructive Conflict
Feminine men have qualities that predispose them to handling conflict constructively. The spring 2006 issue of "The Journal of Men's Studies" states that feminine qualities are tied to handling conflict through positive means. The more femininity that exists between two people in a relationship, the more likely they will handle conflict appropriately. Women are socialized to relate to others and femininity is associated with high verbal skills. In a feminine man, this socialization may manifest as a higher capability of expressing emotional concerns by using an appropriate and descriptive vocabulary.
Positive Views of Women
Feminine men are more likely to possess positive views of women. This quality leads to less misogynistic views -- feminine men are less restrictive of women and thus less likely to believe that women need to fulfill traditionally feminine roles in a relationship. As research in "The Journal of Men's Studies" points out, women are more likely to be satisfied in a relationship with men who view them and their femininity in positive ways.
Sensitivity
Femininity is associated with emotional sensitivity, so feminine men may bring more sensitivity to a relationship than typically masculine men. Emotional sensitivity is important, because it allows a man to better understand his partner's feelings. Feminine men generally demonstrate more empathy toward their partners. While many women are not attracted to feminine men because they are more emotional, other women may feel upset by men who do not understand their feelings. Thus, feminine men are advantageous in relationships because they are able to key into a woman's emotions and talk openly about them.
Typically Feminine Activities
Compared to more masculine men, feminine men will share in activities often seen as feminine. Because they care more about appearances, they will indulge in shopping trips with you and make an effort to look neat. Feminine men will also partake in activities such as bubble baths, facials and spa days. Instead of feeling the need to participate in traditionally masculine activities, feminine men are generally not afraid to break down barriers between gender and share in activities that women like.
