Many people experience pimples on their faces at one point in their lifetimes. While we may not be able to completely prevent pimples, we can better understand our options of preventing the pimples by learning the important facts about them. For teenagers, it can be very difficult to deal with acne, especially if they have severe pimples covering their faces. Even for adults, troublesome pimples can be somewhat depressing, but luckily, there are many different kinds of treatments available to help treat pimples.
Adults and teenagers both develop pimples. Bad hygiene does not cause pimples. Washing your face too much or too roughly can increase your risk of pimples. Picking and popping pimples will not make them go away. You can actually worsen the pimple by doing this, so it's best to keep your hands away from your face.
Depending on the person, there are numerous types of pimple treatments to prevent and cure troublesome pimples on the face. Teenagers are usually recommended topical treatments, while adult women can take birth control pills to help clear their acne. You can prevent acne by using a facial cleanser with pimple-fighting ingredients. If you have serious concerns about your pimples, consult your dermatologist.
Take any medications into consideration when dealing with pimples on your face. Some medications can cause acne. Consult your dermatologist to see if yours is one of them. Avoid using any oily or greasy cosmetics or facial products because these can block the pores, creating the pimple. Wash your pillowcase regularly to remove any oil and dirt that comes in contact with your face while you sleep.
