Cellulite is pockets of fat that press against the connective tissue beneath your skin, which causes the surface of the skin to appear lumpy and dimpled. Scott Ohlgren, author of "Cellular Cleansing Made Easy" recommends juicing over eating fruits and vegetables if you have a condition such as cellulite, as juicing will give the body an almost instant boost of enzymes and nutrients. Ohlgren also claims the body can easily assimilate vital nutrients from fresh juice, enabling you to obtain the benefits that come with being able to consume many fruits or vegetables in a short time. To derive maximum benefits from juicing, you should drink at least one 8-oz. glass of raw juice per day.
Peel two large grapefruits. When removing the peel, leave as much white pith intact as possible; according to "The Juice Lady" Cherie Calbom, the pith is a rich source of bioflavonoids, in particular rutin and hesperidin which may help burn excess fat. Cut or break the peeled grapefruit into pieces that will fit into the feed tube of your juicer. Juice each piece.
Scrub two or three medium-size carrots. Remove the tops, and place them in the feed tube and juice. Not only will carrot juice help soften and add luster to the skin, it can also help reduce cravings for sweets and sugary foods, according to Calbom.
Cut a 1-inch thick slice from a watermelon. Scrub the rind well. Slice the watermelon, including seeds and rind, into pieces that will fit into your juicer feed tube, and juice. Watermelon is a natural diuretic, and the seeds in particular have diuretic properties and can be beneficial in reducing cellulite, according to Calbom.
Drink your juice on an empty stomach. According to David Wolfe, author of "Eating for Beauty," when you drink fresh raw juices on an empty stomach, the body will assimilate all the health benefits of the juice. If you drink juice after eating junk or dense foods, it is much more difficult for the body to derive the benefits as it is too busy working on the excess waste from the junk products.
