Know Before You Go: House Policies at Dave and Buster’s
Dave and Buster’s is an arcade-style entertainment complex where visitors can eat and drink; play games, such as bowling and arcade games; and watch sports on big-screen televisions. Dave and Buster’s also hosts holiday parties, work get-togethers and kid’s birthday parties. Although your children are welcome at Dave and Buster’s for birthday parties, the rules vary at other times, especially on evenings and weekends. In general, the rules state that you must be over 18 to enter a Dave and Buster’s. Depending on the location, however, people under the age of either 18 or 21 may go, as long as they are accompanied by an adult who is at least 25 years old. Some locations also have a curfew, which means that people under age 21 need to leave by 11 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays.
Keep in Mind
At Dave and Buster’s, individual locations have different policies about admitting minors. Your best bet is to check the policies at your location before you go, so you and your kids run into no last-minute surprises. If you are bringing a group of kids, keep in mind that in most locations, each adult is limited to chaperone six underage people. Many locations are family-friendly during the day and become more adult-oriented in the evening or after dinner. Be sure to bring enough adults or older teenagers to properly supervise any younger children. Review appropriate behavior with all the kids before you go. A little bit of advance preparation will go a long way toward helping everyone in your group have a good time.
Birthday Parties
If you want your kids to have Dave and Buster’s to themselves without worrying about adults or curfews, you may want to consider a birthday party. A party at Dave and Buster’s makes an ideal venue when your children are too old for the places with talking animals, but you still want to outsource the food and games. Dave and Buster’s offers a variety of birthday party packages with different combination of food, prize tickets and game credits. Party packages require a minimum of either 10 or 15 guests, depending on the package, and the children’s parties for kids cannot be booked after 4 p.m. on either Friday or Saturday. Contact your local Dave and Buster’s location if you are interested in booking a birthday party for your child.
