Your daughter's wedding day is a special event. Commemorate the day with a unique, handmade gift that your daughter can cherish for years to come. Whether you choose to make an elaborate gift or a simple keepsake, it can be helpful to consider your daughter's personal style and tastes.

Make a piece of jewelry that your daughter can wear to a wedding-related event or that she may even choose to wear on her big day. There are many pieces that you can make that would be appropriate wedding gifts including a bracelet, necklace, earrings or hair ornament. Make your daughter a pearl collar necklace with a simple ladder weave and a drop of chain, Swarovski crystals and pearls, such as the pattern provided on the website Witty Living.

Not every bride-to-be enjoys scrapbooking, but every bride needs a place to store pictures of her favorite memories. Select a scrapbook theme that will be meaningful to your little girl. You might choose to tell her story, including pictures of her as a little tyke with her bridesmaids as they grew and had special moments through to adulthood. Another option is to shape the scrapbook around a mother-daughter theme. You might also gather pictures of both your daughter and her future husband throughout their lives, including their bridesmaids and groomsmen.

Gift Basket

Your daughter is under a lot of pressure during the weeks leading to her wedding. Make her a gift basket filled with her favorite things to de-stress. Include items such as her favorite dark chocolate, wine, a picture of the two of you when she was small, a journal to keep track of last-minute plans or her thoughts leading up to the wedding. Include some items that hold personal meaning for her, such as her favorite CD or book. Add a gift certificate to the basket for a mother-daughter spa day and you will have created not only a gift but a precious moment for the two of you before her wedding.

Make Her Cry

Okay, so perhaps making your daughter cry isn't the ideal gift but stirring emotions by giving her a moving gift is. Create a memory journal for your daughter with the first page being a special memory that you have of the two of you. Write her a poem on parchment paper and then frame it. Find the perfect picture of the two of you and mount it, with a touching inscription. Whatever gesture you choose, as long as it is heartfelt and personal, it will be perfect.
