Trend to Try: Scalloped Edges, 2 Ways

by Anna Liesemeyer

How do you all feel about the scalloped edges hitting the floors as of late? I actually love the feminine vibe they give to a look, but as you know, I also like a little edge and simplicity. Here are a few ways I styled some scalloped trim pieces I picked up at ASOS and some tips to help you incorporate the trend into your late-summer style.

Scalloped shorts look great with a larger sweater. It’s easy, comfortable and offers a more laid-back look. Add a long necklace and a pair of booties to dress it up for an evening out. These particular shorts are linen so they work well for the months of July through September.

Pink usually intimidates me but if you work the color from a different angle by pairing feminine scalloped shorts with a casual sweater and edgier accessories it can become a fun statement color.

This black scalloped trim skirt is something you would assume you need to dress up with a blazer or blouse, but when the weather is hot, all I crave is skirts and casual wear. Add some sneakers and a loose fitting tee to change up the norm and hit the city for any errands you need to run. I added all black accessories so as not to be confused with a tennis player ;).

How would you style your scallops? Would love to hear!
