Restaurants on Gulf to Bay in Clearwater, Florida

Named for the profusion of fresh springs that once covered the area, Clearwater, Florida is best known as a temperate year-round vacation destination. Bordering the Gulf of Mexico and just west of Tampa, Clearwater boasts white sand beaches that provide the backdrop for a wide variety of water recreation activities. The area's major attractions include museums, aquariums, botanical gardens, theme parks, along with a broad range of dining opportunities, particularly along SR60, better known as "Gulf to Bay Boulevard," from South Highland Avenue to Tampa Bay.

Capogna's Dugout

Serving Clearwater since 1973, Capogna's Dugout Italian Restaurant and Sports Bar has grown steadily since its inception and remains a family run business, even after the death of its founder in 1994. Known for its warm, family friendly atmosphere, Capogna's full lunch and dinner menus consist of classic Italian pasta dishes, pizza, sandwiches, burgers and salads. For those who like to cross food genres, they even offer a specialty pizza burger smothered in sauce, melted cheese and pepperoni. All pasta dishes are available in kid-sized portions as well.

McCabe's Restaurant

McCabe's Restaurant offers an inexpensive casual dining experience while providing quality family cooking. In business since 1999, McCabe's is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner, boasting hearty breakfasts and homemade dishes designed to satisfy hunger and appeal to budgets. Their large, three -egg omelets are made to order and can be stuffed with a variety of market-fresh ingredients. Early bird breakfast specials are available from 6 a.m. to 8 a.m., Monday through Thursdays. They also offer early bird dinners from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. . McCabe's also provides free Wi-Fi and accepts call ahead take-out orders.

Mirage Restaurant

Specializing in Persian and Mediterranean-style cuisine, the Mirage offers a daily all- you-can-eat lunch buffet for those who want a wide sampling of what they have to offer. Their a la cart menu includes freshly prepared chicken and beef kabobs, sauteed eggplants dishes, authentic steamed rice platters, as well as vegetarian options such as falafel, babaghanoush, and tabouli salad. Friday and Saturday evenings are livened by a belly dancing performance and cultural music.
