In many families, before or after going to church on Easter Sunday or watching the children hunt for Easter eggs, an Easter Sunday brunch is a tradition. Instead of cooking food for a large family at home, people in the south suburban area of Illinois choose to visit one of these local restaurants.

Allgauer's on the Riverfront

Allgauer's on the Riverfront is located at the Hilton Chicago Northbrook hotel, and provides a brunch buffet for Easter Sunday dining. Cuisine is American, both modern and traditional. Their traditional Sunday champagne brunch includes items such as mixed greens and Caesar salad, grilled vegetable platter, pasta salad, red bliss potato salad, tomato and buffalo mozzarella salad, jumbo gulf shrimp with cocktail sauce, chilled poached salmon, crab legs, made-to-order omelets and prime rib. For dessert, a chocolate fountain, ice cream sundaes, cakes and pastries are available. Drinks included in the buffet are coffee, tea, champagne, mimosas and four different types of juice.

Tinley Park Convention Center will host an Easter Sunday brunch on April 24, 2011. Tinley Park Convention Center is known for hosting weddings and other types of celebrations and festivities as well as business meetings. A look at the brunch menu for gatherings gives a hint as to what guests can expect for the Easter Sunday brunch. Traditional favorites are available, like a full American breakfast featuring eggs, potatoes and meat, and also a "Sunrise Sandwich" and a "Colossal Breakfast Burrito." They also serve up breakfast burritos, fudge iced brownies, fresh fruit punch with sliced fruit and baked bagels with cream cheese.

Durbin's Pub

Durbin's, located in a historic region, generally offers its Easter brunch from mid-morning to late afternoon. The menu includes a lot of traditional Easter dining items such as leg of lamb, roast pork, ham, and more. Children can meet the Easter Bunny when he makes his visit in the late morning and early afternoon hours. Children over the age of 5 eat at a discounted price, and children 5 and under eat for free. Durbin's has been family-owned and operated since 1987, and has several locations throughout Illinois.
