Outdoor Wedding Gardens in Rio Grande Valley, Texas

The Rio Grande Valley is in South Texas and is comprised of cities located along the northern banks of the Rio Grande River. Texan cities in this region include Brownsville, South Padre Island and McAllen. Outdoor garden venues are available in the Rio Grande Valley for engaged couples in South Texas. Due to the area's warm climate, most of these venues are available for wedding events year-round.

Los Ebanos Preserve

Located in San Benito, the Los Ebanos Preserve (losebanospreserve.com) is an 82-acre property in San Benito, right off U.S. Highway 83. The venue features an outdoor courtyard, which has flower gardens and palm trees. The courtyard is adjacent to the Preserve's house, Casa Los Ebanos; the house was built in 1937. Los Ebanos' outdoor lawn is available for receptions and ceremonies of approximately 400 guests. Catering is available through the Preserve.

La Placita

La Placita (laplacitapharr.com) is an outdoor wedding venue in downtown Pharr, near the intersection of Cage Boulevard and Center Avenue. The venue has Southwestern-style d├ęcor and an open-air courtyard with flowers and palm trees. La Placita has a seating capacity of 300 guests. Sit down-style catering is provided through the venue. An iron arch is available for wedding ceremonies. La Placita also provides rain protection in case of stormy weather.

El Rocio Retreat

The El Rocio Retreat (elrocioretreat.com) in Mission, Texas, is within five minutes of the U.S. 83 Expressway. El Rocio features outdoor gardens for wedding ceremonies on it's 18-acre property. Some of the spaces include the courtyard area of the Casa de Luna house and the fountain area of El Rocio's Casa del Sol house. Catering services include outdoor cocktail and hors d'oeuvres receptions or sit down-style service in Casa del Sol's dining room.

Casa De Palmas Renaissance McAllen Hotel

Casa Del Palmas Renaissance (marriott.com) is a Marriott hotel in McAllen's De Palmas Historic District. This hotel has a garden courtyard area with a seating capacity of 150 for stand-up receptions and 100 guests in a banquet setting. In-house catering is available. The hotel features an on-staff wedding coordinator and hires a local wedding cake designer, Cynthia Ebrom, for wedding cakes. This venue has hosted weddings since 1918.

Villa De Cortez

Weslaco's Villa De Cortez (villadecortezweslaco.com) was built in 1928 and on the National Register of Historic Places; the venue was originally a hotel. The venue's courtyard area has brick flooring and features a candlelit fountain, palm trees and floral gardens. Villa De Cortez also provides a red carpet for the bride and groom during their processional. An event coordinator is available to provide assistance with wedding planning. Two restaurants and wedding photographer studio is on the venue's premises.
