Hair follicles create and contain the roots of hair, and different biology types in human beings show the vast differences between hair types that can be produced. Some are born with healthy, thick, long or desirable hair types and colors, while others may have to work to achieve a certain type of hair that is pleasing to them. However, many people do not realize that their hair products, their diet, and even their mindset and attitude can change the quality of their hair for the worse. If you are losing the beautiful hair you once had or are striving to obtain great hair, there are many simple things you can do to improve your hair.

Use hair care products that contain Omega-3 acids. This will thicken and strengthen your hair from the roots.

Use scalp-stimulating products about twice a week. This will prevent blockages from building up around the follicles and keeping them from growing thick.

Use products containing soy, Vitamin B5 and Vitamin E, and eat foods that are rich in Vitamin E, such as nuts and olive oil, as well. Also, eat foods that have a lot of biotin, such as oats and soy beans.

Invest in natural products if you prefer not to purchase shampoos and chemical-based products. Mixtures such as vinegar and sage; flax seed, Irish moss, quince, agar and gelatin; and ginger and sesame oil all help strengthen your follicles, as well as your entire head of hair.

Comb your hair with a wide-tooth brush after washing it, and allow it to dry naturally instead of using a blow dryer.

Remain relaxed and calm in stressful situations. Not only do worry and stress turn hair gray prematurely, they also can cause follicles to weaken.

Avoid harmful chemicals by finding natural dyes or by not dying your hair.
