How to Make Pure Glycerin Face Soap

Glycerin is beneficial for the skin because it attracts moisture to the skin. Pure glycerin has no color and no odor. It is often used to make soaps and body lotions. If your are experiencing dry patches on your face, you might want to make your own glycerin facial soap. Making your own facial soap is a good way to ensure that the soap you use is free of any chemicals that would further irritate your skin.

Items you will need

  • Mason jar
  • Rose petals
  • Water
  • Strainer
  • Empty liquid soap dispenser
  • 2 tsp. pure glycerin
  • 1 tsp. jojoba oil
  • 10 drops lavender essential oil
  • Soap dye
Step 1

Fill a Mason jar with fresh rose petals.

Step 2

Add boiling water to the jar until the rose petals are completely covered. Set aside for 12 hours.

Step 3

Strain the ingredients in the jar to remove the petals. Measure 1 cup of the rose water, and pour it in the liquid soap dispenser.

Step 4

Add 2 tbsp. of pure glycerin to the rose water.

Step 5

Drip in 10 drops of lavender essential oil and 1 tsp. jojoba oil. Place the lid on the liquid soap dispenser and give it a good shake.

Step 6

Add a few drops of soap dye in the color of your choosing. Shake the ingredients one final time.

Tips

  • You can use pure glycerin directly on your face without harming your skin, but mixing it with rose water is better. Rose water is a natural astringent that can freshen up all skin types.
