In Loving Memory cards provide a brief glimpse at the life of a person who has passed. These cards often include photos, poems, song lyrics or specific details about the person that her mourners will recognize. The cards essentially provide mourners with a printed memory of the deceased. A funeral is expensive, but you don't need to add to the financial burden of it when creating these cards; you can make them for free.

Open a card making template in Microsoft Word. Select "File" from the top menu, select "new" from the drop down menu and then select "new from templates." You can find more free card templates from various websites, such as the Avery website.

Select an image of the deceased for the cover of the card. This way the guests can frame the card later if they desire. If you would like, you can type "In Loving Memory" on the front of the card, along with the dates of the deceased person's birth and death. Alternatively, you can simply adorn the cover with one of the person's favorite quotes or song lyrics.

Choose the information that you would like to appear inside the card. Since the card is meant to be a keepsake, rather than a program or an invitation, it doesn't need to include any information about the services. This is the place to put a story, memories or messages from the family or friends, as well as any prayers.

Print out as many copies of the card as you need. Now you can add any additional elements, such as decorations, signatures or slipped-in photos, before handing out the cards or mailing them. This would also be the time to add any hand-written messages to particular recipients.
