How to Make Country Creamed Chicken

Items you will need

  • 3 Skinless and boneless chicken breasts
  • 3 Tablespoons extra virgin olive oil
  • 8 Sliced mushrooms
  • 1 Onion
  • 2 Cloves of garlic, minced
  • 1 Tablespoon flour
  • 1/2 Teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 Teaspoon pepper
  • 1 3/4 Cups chicken broth
  • 1 Cup sour cream
  • 1 8 Ounce package of egg noodles

This recipe for Country Creamed Chicken is a real comfort food made with chicken breasts and egg noodles in a rich flavorful cream sauce. Follow the steps below and in less than an hour you will be enjoying this dish with your family or guests. This dish goes well with your favorite steamed vegetables and a lite green salad.

Step 1

Cut the chicken breasts into small pieces and saute in extra virgin olive oil until all chicken is browned on all sides.

Step 2

Put the mushrooms, onions, and the garlic into the frying pan with the chicken pieces and cook it for another 4 minutes. Take a slotted spoon and remove the chicken and vegetables. Set those aside.

Step 3

Mix together salt, pepper, and the flour and put it into the frying pan with the drippings from the chicken and vegetables. Slowly add the broth to the pan and cook while occasionally stirring about 5 to 6 minutes until mixture is thickened.

Step 4

Stir in the chicken, vegetables, and the sour cream. Simmer just a few minutes until the chicken and vegetables are hot again. Spoon over the cooked egg noodles and serve immediately. Makes 6 servings.
