How to Make a Hydration Facial Spray

by Rebekah Brooks

Hydration facial sprays help your skin feel hydrated, fresh and clean throughout the day. These sprays moisturize dry skin during the cold winter months, yet also keep your skin feeling cool and refreshed during the hot summer. Homemade hydration sprays often contain natural ingredients such as honey, avocado, green tea, strawberries or infused oils. These types of ingredients are rich in antioxidants and minerals that fight wrinkles, keep the skin moist and improve blood circulation in the skin.

Essential Oil Spray

Step 1

Mix 1 cup of distilled or mineral water, four drops of rose oil, two drops of chamomile oil, three drops of lavender oil and one drop of sweet orange oil in a glass jar.

Step 2

Place a cover on the glass jar and shake it vigorously. Pour some of the mixture into a small 1- or 2-ounce spray bottle.

Step 3

Place the leftover mixture in the refrigerator. Refill the spray bottle when needed.

Strawberry Spray

Step 1

Chop 1/4 cup of strawberries, 1/2 cup of strawberry leaves, one lemon, one sprig of rosemary and one sprig of thyme.

Step 2

Place the chopped ingredients in a saucepan. Mix in 1 tablespoon of castor oil and 1 1/2 cups of mineral water. Simmer the ingredients on a low heat until the strawberries disintegrate.

Step 3

Place a piece of cheesecloth in the bottom of a funnel. Strain the mixture through the cheesecloth into a container. Store the mixture in the refrigerator.

Avocado or Almond Oil Spray

Step 1

Mix 1 cup of distilled or mineral water, five drops of lavender oil, five drops of chamomile oil and 1 teaspoon of avocado or almond oil in a glass jar.

Step 2

Place a cover on the glass jar and shake it vigorously. Pour some of the mixture into a small 1- or 2-ounce spray bottle.

Step 3

Place the leftover mixture in the refrigerator. Refill the spray bottle when needed.

Green Tea Spray

Step 1

Boil 2 cups of mineral water. Add two green tea bags and let them steep for three minutes. Mix in 1 teaspoon of honey.

Step 2

Place a piece of cheesecloth in the bottom of a funnel. Strain the mixture through the cheesecloth into a container.

Step 3

Place the container in the refrigerator and let it sit overnight. The spray will stay fresh for two weeks.
