How to make a detox body scrub to reduce cellulite in your thighs and buttocks

As much as we hate to admit it, every woman at some point in her life will be faced with the dimpled orange peel effect of cellulite on her thighs and buttocks. Creams, lotions and scrubs can be purchased at shops to reduce its hold on your body, but these can be expensive and packed with chemicals. Salt's exfoliating properties will leave your skin feeling smooth. Clay will draw out excess water from the region while moisturising the skin's surface. Coffee stimulates and breaks down areas of congested fat. Grapefruit is known to stimulate the lymphatic system, allowing for toxins to be drawn out of your thighs. Used regularly, you will soon find yourself the owner of legs which are smooth to touch with a visible reduction in cellulite. The recipe is simple to prepare and will keep for 1 year in an air-tight container.

In a medium mixing bowl, combine all ingredients until smooth and lump-free.

Transfer to air-tight container. It can be stored in this way for up to 12 months.

Stimulating your thighs and buttocks with a body brush before applying the scrub can also help in your battle against cellulite. To use a body brush, brush your skin towards the heart. Body brushes stimulate fatty congestion and draw toxins out of the body.

To use, in a small bowl, combine 2 tbsp of mix with just enough milk to get the consistency of paste.

Rub into thighs and buttocks for several minutes.

Rinse off with warm water, towel dry and moisturise as normal.
