There are ways to get a tan easier in the sun and you can even get a darker tan while doing it. It is always important to be aware of your skin type, wear SPF sunscreen no matter what and drink lots of water to keep your skin hydrated. Let's catch some rays!
Wear SPF 15 sunscreen. No matter what, some protection is important for your skin. Try a lotion sunscreen to keep your skin hydrated.
Hydrate before and after. Hydrate your body with lots of water before, during and after sun exposure. The hydration allows your body to tan much easier and gives some added protection.
Apply lotion before and after tanning. This means putting on lotion before the sunscreen. Lotion helps to achieve a natural and even faster tan.
Use self-tanner while lying in the sun. Research is showing that even fair-skinned people who don't normally tan can induce a tan in the sun through use of self-tanner. This aids the tanning process and protects your skin as well. Pick a self-tanner with at least SPF 15.
Know your limits. If after 20 minutes you turn red, don't overdo it.
Never go "bare" to the beach or backyard. Skin needs SPF protection no matter what and can still tan despite the SPF!
