Are you a gardener and itching like crazy to get outside and plant something, but you can’t because old man winter is still knocking at your door?
Well, how about planting an indoor succulent garden? Not only will you be able to get your hands dirty (just a little), but you’ll get to take a trip to your local garden nursery or home improvement store, which we all know is good therapy during these long (boring) winter months.
Planting an indoor succulent garden might just be the cure you need right now. And planting one couldn’t be easier.
Table Top Succulent Garden Supplies
- Mini Succulent plants
- Small polished rocks
- Cactus Soil
- Cool Container (I like using clear glass so I can see everything)
Directions for Creating a Table Top Succulent Garden
Step 1 – Line your container with polished rocks. This will help to allow for drainage and let’s face it, polished rocks just look cool.
Step 2 – Carefully remove your mini succulents from their containers. Succulents may look tough, but they’re actually pretty delicate and the last thing you want is their little arms and legs to fall off.
Step 3 – Place the succulents on top of the rocks, then add a little cactus soil around the edges of the plant so the roots can spread out.
Step 4 – Fill the empty spaces in your container with polished rocks. I like to use a mix of white and grey rocks to add color and contrast.
Step 5 – Water sparingly. Remember, succulents don’t need a lot of water and actually prefer a dry environment. I like to give mine a little mist about once a month.
Now really, how easy was that?
Get out there and get gardening!
