Why spend big money eating Bar B Q ribs at restaurants??? This easy process will make you the most popular cook around. Super easy process makes the best smoked pork spare ribs you have ever tasted. My husband is a fantastic cook and has this process down to an art. He is sharing it with you!!!
Buy good quality pork spare ribs allowing one pound per person. We usually buy ours at Sam's Club. Sprinkle Stubb's Bar-B-Q Spice Rib liberally on both sides of the ribs. Let them set over night for best results.
Get the smoker ready. We have a Brinkman electric water smoker. A smoker that uses a water pan for indirect heat makes great ribs or other meats. Place mesquite chips on the heating element in bottom of smoker. Make sure you have filled the pan inside the smoker with water. You may have to add water periodically. Other flavors of wood chips can also be used such as apple wood chips or hickory but our favorite is mesquite.
Place aluminum foil on the grills in the smoker for easier clean up later. Place the ribs on the grills. Smoke ribs for about 4 hours and then take ribs out of smoker and baste with Stubb's Moppin' Sauce. Place ribs back in smoker. For best results, baste ribs again after six hours with the same moppin' sauce. Stubb's products can be bought at most grocery stores.
After 8 hours, you will have FANTASTIC smoked pork ribs. They will be so tender. Serve the ribs with your favorite BBQ sauce if you wish. The meat will be so tender and you can dip them in the sauce, HOWEVER, we love eating them with just the Stubb's flavoring.
Plan the next time you want to smoke ribs again because we guarantee you that you will want to do it. Enjoy. This is how we do it in Oklahoma!!!
- Smoker is also great for whole chickens, sausages and briskets
- Saves money because cheaper cuts of meat will still turn out tender and taste great.
- Neighbors will smell the meat smoking and be your new best friend
