How to Clean Your Face With Olive Oil

by Megan Richardson ; Updated September 28, 2017

Olive oil is natural way to restore moisture to your skin. Because of its moisturizing properties, olive oil can be combined with another ingredient to effectively clean the skin. Unlike other facial cleansers, the olive oil mixture won't strip the face of its natural oils, which can leave skin feeling tight and dry.

Pour 1 tsp. castor oil in a small bowl.

Add 1 tsp. extra virgin olive oil to the castor oil. Stir together.

Pour the mixture into your hands, and then rub it onto your face for one minute. Make sure you don't dampen your face before applying.

Wet a soft cloth with hot water, and then place it over your face for one minute. The steam from the hot water will help the castor oil draw out the skin's bacteria.

Rinse the cloth with water, and then gently wipe your face with the same cloth.

  • This facial cleanser will remove your makeup. If you are prone to breakouts, add three drops of tea tree oil to the olive oil and castor oil.
