How to Clean Privo Shoes

Privo shoes, made by the famous comfort shoe creator Clarks, carry on the parent company's tradition of quality in design and construction. Focused on casual comfort, the shoes possess features that are particular to the Privo brand such as the trademarked Soleassage liner that features cushioned bumps to massage your feet as you wear them and their noticeably lightweight construction. Even though Privo shoes may stand out among other casual comfort shoes due to their design and features, when it comes to cleaning them you will likely find that they don't require any more or less effort than when you clean other leather shoes.

Nubuck and Suede Leather Care

Brush the shoe lightly, in the direction of the nap, with a soft suede brush to remove dirt and stains.

Clean remaining stains with a lint-free cloth dampened with warm water. Gently rub the damp cloth in the direction of the nap. If the stitching, overlay panels or mesh detailing are soiled, wipe or blot them clean with the dampened cloth.

Allow your Privos to air dry in a well-ventilated area away from intense, direct heat. Apply the manufacturer's recommended amount of a silicone spray, if desired, for protection from stains.

Full Grain Aniline, Oiled and Waxed Leathers

Wipe dirt away from the leather upper of your Privos with a dry, lint-free cloth and then use a clean, lint-free cloth, dampened with warm water, to wipe the shoe clean. Repeat this step with the rubber outsoles if needed.

Air dry shoes away from sources of intense or direct heat as they can dry out the leather.

Apply a dime-size amount of creme polish to your Privo shoes with a polishing cloth. Be sure to use the right type of polish for your particular shoes whether they are aniline, oiled or waxed. Check the label of the polish to see which materials it is designated for before applying.

Patent Leather

Place a clean, lint-free cloth under warm, running water and squeeze the excess water from the cloth so it is damp.

Place one drop of mild liquid soap onto the damp cloth and rub it into the cloth with your fingers.

Wipe your Privo patent shoes with the damp, soapy cloth to clean, and wipe dry with another clean, dry cloth to remove any film that is present. Some Privo patent leather styles have embellishments, such as metal studs. You can clean them in the same manner as you clean the patent leather.
