hi this is Katrina so there from fuzzy studios and today I'm going to be going over how to attach a knit cuff to a sleeve so knit material is a little bit stretchy so keep that in mind as you're working with it what you're going to need for this project is a pre sewn cuff so that it's already sewn in in circular and a pre sewn sleeve so it's already sewn in and circular you're also going to need some pins a wonderful sewing machine you can hand stitch it I do recommend if you have a sewing machine to use it for this project and scissors to cut the thread the first thing you're going to do is take your pre sewn cuff and match the seam line to the seam line of the jacket what that means is you're going to take the outside of the cuff lay it up against the outside of the jacket so they're facing each other once you've done that typically the seam lines will match up this particular example of a sleeve has a double seam line so I had to match it up right in between you're going to take pins and pin all the way around now this cuff is smaller than the sleeve itself so it's going to cinch in which means that I'm going to have to do a little bit more stretching than you normally would make sure that you've stretched and that everything is even if you do the first pin on that seam line of the cuff you should be good to go and just make sure you're stretching that there's no bulkiness or no pleats in it once you're done with your pinning you can move to your sewing machine you're going to go ahead and sew with a 1/4 of an inch left trim sew all the way around starting at that seam line once you get done take it off the sewing machine flip up the cuff and you're going to notice that it's kind of bulky it looks a little unfinished what you're going to do then is go back to your sewing machine and you're going to start again at that seam line and sew down so that you're catching a little bit in between those leftover from that 1/4 inch trim sew all the way around take it off trim your thread and that's how you attach a knitted cuff to asleep thanks for watching this is Katrina from fuzzy studios Hey
