If a friend or family member is graduating from the high school, college or graduate school, fill his graduation party with grad-themed decorations. In addition to the banners and caps that might decorate the event, you can offer graduation-themed candy and chocolate as party favors.

Chocolate Lollipops

Chocolate lollipops are quite easy to make and are an inexpensive party favor to make if you need a large quantity. Go to a local party store and purchase chocolate molds in the shape of diplomas, or graduation robes and hats. Melting chocolate and lollipop sticks can be purchased at the party store as well, or at a local grocery or craft store. After melting the chocolate per the instructions on the package, simply pour the chocolate into each mold. Insert the lollipop stick and place in the fridge until the chocolate is hard. You can then wrap these chocolate lollipops in plastic or cellophane with ribbon around it to complete the party favor.

Personalized Wrappers

Locate a company that offers personalized wrappers for full sized chocolate bars. The wrappers can contain text such as the name, year and school of the graduate, or even a photo of the graduate in her cap and gown. Like many items that are purchased in quantities, the more you purchase, the cheaper the individual price. Also, be sure to allow ample time for production and shipping of the personalized wrappers. Some companies also offer smaller bite-sized chocolates in personalized wrappers as well.

Candy Bar

Set-up a candy bar filled with a myriad of different candy options. Find different sizes of wide-mouthed glass vases and set them on a table. Then fill each vase with candy. You can use dark, milk and white chocolate, as well as various kinds of sweet and sour candies. Providing a variety will give people a lot to choose from when making their own party favors. Add a scoop to each vase, and provide small plastic bags and twist ties. Graduates and attendants of the party can mix and match as they fill their bag. If it is hot outside, it might be wise to place the candy bar inside for the graduates so that candy does not melt.

Graduation Caps

Graduation caps can be made easily with just a few ingredients including peanut butter cups, small chocolate-covered graham crackers, yellow fruit chews and frosting. These items can be purchased at a party or grocery store. They are assembled by placing a small layer of frosting on the bottom of a peanut butter cup. The chocolate graham cracker is then placed on top of the frosting. Roll out a few fruit chews, and then cut long, thin strips with a kitchen knife. Place a dab of frosting on top of the graham cracker and affix the yellow fruit chew or "tassel." You can wrap two or three of these in cellophane for each person to take home.
