Gift Ideas for Vendors

Thanking your vendors for reliable services and quality products will help cultivate your business relationship. Gift-giving is appropriate when vendors go above and beyond the call of duty to help you out. For example, a rush order was completed at no additional cost or they participated in company events. Gifts can also be given to vendors during the holidays, or when you want to say thank you.

Tickets or Gift Certificates

Gift certificates to restaurants are gifts that vendors will appreciate. Give gift certificates in the range between $25 to $100, depending on your relationship and the amount of business you do with a particular vendor. Choose the type of restaurant based on the vendor's likes or at your discretion. Tickets to a theme park, the theater, a sports game are appropriate. If your vendor has children, tickets to a traveling children's production, such as Disney on Ice, is also appropriate.

Customer Referrals

Customer referrals are gifts that keep on giving. Pass the contact information along to other business associates if you appreciate a vendor's products and customer service. The vendor will appreciate the extra business and might even offer you discounts based on referrals.

Business Gifts

Treat your vendors to gifts they can use daily. Business vendors who travel frequently will appreciate a wireless travel mouse or a battery powered cell phone charger for on-the-go emergencies. Travel MP3 speakers or noise canceling earphones are both gifts that make trips more enjoyable. A digital photo keychain can help business travelers keep photos of friends and family close.

Gift Baskets

Send over a gift basket to the vendor's office for all the employees to enjoy. Purchase a gift basket that can be enjoyed by everyone. A gift basket filled with a variety of coffee flavors and treats, such as biscuits or biscotti, will help employees stay alert with a caffeine fix. A gift basket from a local bakery full of sweet treats, such as cookies, muffins or cupcakes, will satiate mid-afternoon cravings.
