Spice up a teenage party by planning one that will have your guests enthralled. Get kids involved and participating in themes and events. Crazy themed parties are always an entertaining way to charm guests. Make food dishes that go along with the chosen theme or color scheme. Teenage boys love sports. Take the kids to a local paintball park, have a crazy paintball party and save your home from the mess.

Alice in Wonderland

Have a whimsical Alice in Wonderland themed tea party. Use mismatched, colorful and oversized tea cups, saucers and set the table. Give the teenage guests mad hatter top hats to wear and odd colored sports jackets. Play games like croquet and have a teacup toss where players must toss ping pong balls into different sized teacups for points. Older teens will be delighted by sparklers. Place them on the edges of a walkway and light them as the kids come outside. Serve colorful pastries with Alice in Wonderland words such as "Big," "Small," "Mad" or "Try me" written on the tops with frosting.

Barbie

Barbie parties may make someone think of small children, but this girly doll is a popular teenage theme. Even adults host events around this blond iconic figure. Send out pink invitations sealed with ribbon and perfume. For older teens, think elegant rather than childish. Serve pink candies in bowls, and pink colored juices or sodas. The website Teen Party Ideas suggests gathering some cardboard and spray painting it pink. Assemble it into a life-size Barbie doll box and paint the words on the front. Provide blond wigs for your friends and let them take pictures while standing in the box.

Black Light

You’ll need a basement room with small or no windows to do this in the daytime. Block out any windows using tin foil and then line the walls and floor of the room with black plastic. In a black light, nothing will be seen except for what you place in the room. Put bright colored items like neon pink, blue and green throughout the room. Blow up furniture often comes in these colors, otherwise cover chairs and couches with neon fabric sheets. Appeal to the sensory perception with fuzzy rugs, velvet black light posters and spray painted wicker baskets.

Paint Ball

Take the teens to a paintball park. Paintball is a target sport played with guns that shoot paint. The game is played in an arena usually filled with obstacles such as trees, haystacks and hills. Players can be outfitted at the paintball park so there won’t be any worries regarding equipment. After a long day at a paintball park, teenagers will be hungry and ready for a hardy meal. Call the paintball park ahead of time to ask if they offer any packages or specials regarding birthday groups.
