Planning a 12-year-old child's party isn't as hard as you might think. Simply planning a few activities, food and sending out invitations is all it takes. Check out a few themed birthday parties. Everyone is sure to have a great time.
Have a slumber party for a few of the birthday child's friends. Send out "slumber party invitations." Best to keep slumber parties limited to guests of the same gender.
Slumber Party Food and Games
Games could consist of "campfire" games, board games, Wii or karaoke. Food can consist of pigs in the blanket, ice cream sundaes and mini pizzas. Cupcakes can be made with a sleeping bag theme. Sleeping bags are essential at this party.

Host the movie event of the season. Send out invitations that have a movie theme and carry this theme through the entire party.
Movie Night Food and Games
Serve popcorn, movie candy and pizza. Play a current DVD. Games could consist of movie trivia or charades based on movie scenes. Some smaller theaters offer dinner/movie nights that allow patrons to order from their favorite local restaurant or bring their own dinner. Have dinner for the kids while you're watching the movie.
Treat guests to a glamorous makeover. Search online, make your own products or buy at local shops. Make homemade facial masks or buy individual packets for each girl. Manicures and pedicures are also a great idea. Set up stations for each service rendered.
Spa Party Food
Serve healthier fare such as a vegetable and fruit tray, fruity beverage and healthy wraps. Be sure to put cucumbers over the eyes while relaxing with a facial mask.
