by Amy Long Carrera

Dairy Queen has been satisfying cravings for sweet frozen treats since 1940. Today, it’s one of the largest fast-food franchise chains on the globe, with more than 6,000 restaurants in 20 countries. DQ makes more than 30 varieties of ice cream cake to delight your taste buds. Choose your flavor wisely, though. You may have to set up permanent residence at the gym to burn off the most caloric of the cakes.

The Skinny on the Calories

If you eat a tenth of a 10-inch Chocolate Xtreme Blizzard or Oreo Blizzard Cake, you’re looking at a whopping 760 calories. One-twelfth of a 10-inch Candy Shop Blizzard Cake will set you back 510 calories. You may be better off eating a tenth of the DQ Heart Cake, which will supply you with 290 calories. Regardless of which variation you indulge in, save this calorific dessert for special occasions and plan on taking the stairs instead of the elevator for a few days.
