3 Steps to a Natural Summer Glow

by Anna Liesemeyer ; Updated October 17, 2017

I did not practice skin safety very well when I was in high school and many freckles have started to show up as a result! I have begun to wear more hats and never spend time in the sun without SPF. I still love a good summer glow though, so I wanted to test out some products that can give you a sun-kissed look in a less skin damaging yet natural-looking way. Move over orangey self tanners, it’s time to take back our natural skin tone!

Step 1: Make sure to wash your face so you start with a clean palette. On dry skin, prime with Smashbox Luminizing Photo Finish Primer. It is super light with a mousse-like texture that evens out your skin tone while allowing it to breath. This is a fantastic base for any other product you apply.

Step 2: Use a small amount (a little goes a long way!) of Laura Mercier Tinted Moisturizer and rub gently into skin over your entire face. I have tried many tinted moisturizers (personally, I prefer it over BB cream), and this has been my favorite so far! It also has SPF in it, which is a big plus. Sephora has a free skin tone match test you can do if you need to find your color! This is going to give your skin the dewey glow we all chase after!

Step 3: Using a facial brush, blend Bare Minerals Bronzer from the apples of your cheeks up and around your temples and down around your chin. You do not need to cover your face in bronzer, but just apply where the sun would normally kiss your face for a more natural look. This is a lightweight product that produces great results!

Tip for each step: Make sure you are blending into your neck with each step so that your face does not look like an entirely different color.

I hope these tips help keep your skin looking healthy and feeling summer bitten. Would love to hear how it works out for you!
