Many women battle facial hair on the upper lip or chin and may find it unsightly or embarrassing. If you are looking for an alternative to laser hair removal, electrolysis or depilatories, natural sugar waxing offers an affordable, easy and practical alternative, recommends TheBeautyBiz.com. You will only need to wax every two to four weeks to eliminate unwanted hair and keep your skin smooth and pretty.
Combine sugar, lemon juice and water in a saucepan on medium-high heat. Bring to a boil, then simmer for 25 minutes. The mixture should be a warm amber color and smell fresh and lemony. If you have a candy thermometer, the sugaring mixture should be 246 degrees Fahrenheit. Remove from the heat and allow to sit at room temperature for 15 minutes to thicken.
Pour the sugaring mixture into an airtight container and allow to cool completely.
Use your fingers to remove a small chunk of thick sugaring wax. Flatten the wax between your hands to form a piece approximately 1/4 inch thick and large enough for the area you need to wax.
Press the cold sugaring wax onto clean, dry skin.
Lift one end of the wax. Holding the skin taut, pull the wax away from the skin in the direction opposite natural hair growth.
Repeat until all unwanted hair is removed. Wash away any sugaring wax residue with warm water.
- Use tweezers to remove stray hairs left after sugaring.
- Expect some redness after sugaring facial hair. This should resolve within a few hours. A soothing moisturizer may help.
