How to Naturally Treat Damaged Hair

Heat styling and color treating can give hair a temporary boost of shine and a healthy look. Flat irons and dyes, which can boost your locks when first applied, will cause damage over time if hair is not protected and nourished. The damage may take the form of frizz and flyaways, split ends or a dull finish. If the thought of trialling heavy treatments and masks makes you want to throw your hair in a ponytail until your next salon visit, try taking the natural route. Inject your hair with a healthy dose of moisture with items you likely have right in your kitchen.

Place a banana and 1 tablespoon of honey in a blender. Turn the blender on high and mix until smooth and no banana chunks remain.

Coat your hair from roots to tips in the mask.

Cover your hair with a shower cap and allow it to set for 20 minutes.

Rinse your hair well. Follow up with a moisturizing shampoo and conditioner to remove residue and seal in shine.
