Ponte Vedra Beach, located on the Florida coast near Jacksonville, is an area known for golf. However, parents and kids can take advantage of the other activities Ponte Vedra Beach has to offer. In addition to beach activities, a range of options are available, including classes and cultural experiences.

Water and Beach Play

Splash Water Park is in the Nocatee community and provides an aquatic playground, sand volleyball court and children’s play structures. The park has the highest water slide tower in northeast Florida, a 330-foot zip line, and a poolside kitchen with a full menu. Smaller kids can play in the shallow pool or take a slow ride down the Lazy Tides River. Meanwhile, at Ponte Vedra Beach, kids can explore the sand dunes and play in one of several creeks and lagoons scattered throughout the area.

Culture and Arts

At St. John’s County Public Library Ponte Vedra branch, kids can enjoy a weekly family story time with crafts. The branch also has scheduled kids events such as Lego play nights or video game nights where older kids can come play games on the library’s Playstation 3 and XBOX 360 with Kinect. Additionally, the library has a yearly summer reading program for children. At the Cultural Center, kids can join any of the seasonally scheduled art camps and art workshops, which place a focus on both local and national artists.

Karate America at Ponte Vedra Beach focuses on teaching self-defense and technique. Your kids will enjoy the opportunity to learn martial arts while getting exercise and gaining strength. In addition to typical kid classes, Karate America’s after-school program provides martial arts and and study time for your child to finish his school homework. At Planet Swim, young swimmers can learn their way through level certifications taught by experienced staff, including some former Olympic-ranked swimmers.

Parents aren’t the only ones who can enjoy time spent at one of Ponte Vedra’s resorts. At Ponte Vedra Inn & Club and at The Lodge & Club, kids can partake in movies, arts and crafts, dinner clubs, pizza parties and organized games. Ponte Vedra Inn & Club also has a playground on the ocean, while The Lodge has two heated swimming pools. Both resorts offer a summer camp for kids every year.
